Information we collect
Information you give us. When you submit the contact form or book a consultation, we receive the information you enter. That is typically your name, your email address, your phone number, your business name, and whatever you choose to write in the message.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this site and the services used to operate it may automatically collect technical information such as browser and device information, pages viewed, approximate location, referral information, and information about how visitors use the site.
Call and message recordings. Calls or communications through Google Local Services Ads may be monitored or recorded by Google.
We do not ask for and do not want financial account numbers, Social Security numbers, employer identification numbers, or any other sensitive identifier through this website or by email. If a prospective client needs to send that kind of information, we will arrange a secure method first.
How we use it
We use the information you submit to respond to your inquiry, schedule and prepare for a consultation, provide and administer the services you engage us for, send information you have asked for, meet our legal and professional obligations, and understand how the website is being used so we can improve it.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for advertising purposes. We do not send marketing email to people who have only submitted a contact form.
Analytics and cookies
This website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the site to function. Others are set by Google Analytics, which helps us see how visitors find and move through the site. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site. We do not use Google Analytics to personally identify website visitors.
You can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when a cookie is being set. Some parts of the site may not work as expected if you do. You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using Google’s browser add-on.
Third-party services
We use a small number of outside services to run the website and the business. Each handles data under its own privacy policy.
Google Analytics and Google Search Console, for website traffic and search performance. Calendly, for scheduling consultations. Intuit QuickBooks Online, where client bookkeeping work is performed on the client’s own subscription. Google Workspace, for email and for shared document folders. Our website hosting provider, which stores the site and its server logs.
We do not control how these companies use information collected through their own services, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
Client information
If you become a client, we handle your financial records under your written service agreement rather than under this website policy. In the course of bookkeeping work we access records such as bank and credit card statements, invoices, bills, vendor and customer records, and payroll information provided by you or your payroll provider.
We access your QuickBooks Online file through accountant access on your own subscription, which you grant and can revoke at any time. Where your financial institution offers it, we prefer read-only access, which allows us to view the information needed for bookkeeping without the ability to move money.
With your permission, we share information with your tax preparer or other advisors on bookkeeping questions and adjustments. We do not disclose your financial information to outside parties except as needed to provide the services you have engaged us for, with your permission, or where required by law.
How long we keep information
We keep contact form submissions and consultation records for as long as needed to respond and to maintain a record of the inquiry. Client financial records are maintained primarily in the client’s own QuickBooks Online file and other systems controlled by the client. Ledger & Logic does not maintain a separate archive of the client’s QuickBooks records after our access ends. We may retain business records related to the engagement, such as service agreements, invoices, and communications, for legitimate business or legal purposes. You can ask us to delete information we are not required to keep.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information in our care, including limiting access to what is needed to do the work. No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive personal or financial information by ordinary email.
Your choices
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. You may opt out of marketing emails if we offer them in the future. You may decline cookies through your browser settings.
To make any of these requests, email kris@ledgerandlogicllc.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.
Children
This website is intended for business owners and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the business or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised, and the current version is always posted here.
